tomorrow’s Saturday lunch
I’m cooking a special lunch for my two aunts, their daughters and my mum and I tomorrow. They’re all from my mum’s side of the family who are Turkish-Cypriot, so I feel like the pressure is on me to do something extra fantastic, seen as food is such a huge part of their culture and my two aunts are mind-blowingly good cooks! They’re very blunt too..
The menu sounds more impressive than it is:
To start:
Grilled henlim cheese with beetroot and lime puree and cucumber salad
For main:
Indian tomato and coriander lamb with rice
For dessert:
My dark chocolate fondant with summer fruit compote and fresh cream
I’ll be posting photos of the results tomorrow, I pray it turns out well because - argh, it would be awful if I had to serve them shit.
